Who fails more often at school: boys or girls?

Very soon  my students will go to schools to teach foreign languages to  kids. It may be a great challege for them because many kids are not motivated at all to study a foreign language. They often resist all the teachers' efforts and fail to do the simplest tasks. As a rule, boys fail  more often than girls. The video that I suggest my students to watch explores this topic. What do you think about the ideas discussed in the interview?

To miss or not to miss classes? This is a problem.

Viktoria,  I would agree with you that students' education is their  problem and they should decide for themselves  to miss or not to miss classes. But how about your possible  future teaching profession that has two sides - you and your students. At the university classes you are getting the experiences of interacting with other people, discussing and debating different issues, learning how to start, support and complete real conversations. If you miss classes then you have to receive this kind of experiences in some other place, with some other people. Of course , the Internet now can give you such an experience but would it be a quality experince or just everyday small talk experience?
Another issue is class attendance policy in the Universities of the USA , for examle. If you miss more than two classes without a  strong excuse there  you may fail the course and will have to pay for it again How about this policy which is diffedrnt from what you mention speaking about European universites?

It's winter outside but I want my friends to enjoy summer time again and a rose that I grew in my garden.

Lessons from European education

I am happy that I have got the first commentary fr m my student Victoria on the issues that I raised. I share your concerns about education in Russia, Victoria. You suggest learning from Europe in the sphere of education. Can you be more specific and give examles of strong sides of European education?

Schooling in different countries

We have started discussing the schooling issues. The topic is debatable and poses  tons of questions. I invite my students to join the discussion  thinking about:

What do we like or dislike about our Russian schools?
How different are Russian schools from those in Britain, US, Germany?
What do we want to change in our schools?

PLease do some Internet search toanswer the questions or just share your personal opinion.
